An ad hoc sub-committee comprising representatives from Exiles, Marscascala, Neptunes, Otters, San Giljan, Sirens and Sliema has been formed to organize age- group water polo competitions during the winter months.

The first under-14  water polo tournament was held at  the National Pool Tal-Qroqq on Sunday 28th February. Similar tournaments will be held on the last Sunday of every month until May. A good number of parents, relatives and supporters were present at the National Pool to support their teams.

Similar competitions are going to be held for under 13s, under 16s and under 19s.

This is part of a project recently launched to attract more young  boys and girls to the game of water polo. The participating clubs in conjunction with the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta aim to keep these  young  players active during the winter season by participating in such competitive matches.

The sub-committee thank the referees from the  Malta Water polo Referees Association for assisting in the organization of these competitions by refereeing these water polo games.
